X Pulmonary Alveoli
At the very end of the brochial tree of the lung are the alveoli, where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide occurs. Dark blood flows through the capillaries of the alveoli, release CO2 into the alveoli, take up O2 from the alveoli, and then the bright red blood returns to the heart.
X Trachea
This semi-rigid tube brings inspired air into the bronchi and lungs and expired air out to the atmosphere.
X Bronchus
The trachea divides into the right main bronchus (visible) and left main bronchus (obscured by the left lung) going to each respective lung.
